The Operating Room currently has an opportunity for a casual Clerk IV to join their interdisciplinary team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties will include but will not be limited to:
- Answer phone calls - relay messages, liaise between staff, physicians and units.
- Knowledge of and compiling ORBC statistics and Safer Health Care NOW., maintain data base for MIS Stats as required. Collect and distribute monthly statistics.
- Initiate calls as required.
- Notify doctor's offices of schedule progress (i.e., time changes of scheduled procedures).
- Capable of scheduling emergency cases.
- Keep up-to-date computer records of O.R. procedures.
- Check for and inform staff of incomplete or inaccurate records.
- Maintain desk area in orderly fashion; includes upkeep of files, charts, bulletin boards and supplies.
- Direct and assist visitors (sales reps, maintenance, etc.) to appropriate personnel as necessary.
- Relieve Booking Clerk and Clerk IV for periods of vacation/illness.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Diploma Program or equivalent in related field is required; medical terminology is required.
- Demonstrated advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and data entry. Knowledge of Meditech OR scheduling Module OE/EMR required.
- Previous Clerk IV experience required
- Recent Operating Room experience is required.
- Experience with MIS & ORBC stats is required.
- Understanding of Eventus booking procedures is required
- Comprehensive understanding of ORNAC & IPAC standards and it relationship to the Operating Room.
- Demonstrated accurate typing skills with typing speed of at least 60 w.p.m. is required (testing will be conducted).
- Ability to meet monthly deadlines under pressure while working in a busy environment with regular interruptions.
- Working knowledge of Vendor process and ability to provide direction to them
- You must be able to work independently and set priorities while managing multiple tasks.
- Demonstrated reliable attendance, punctuality and performance.
