The Chief Information Officer (CIO) provides leadership and expertise to advance the Digital Health and Information Technology strategy to enable the delivery of leading practice health care for the communities we serve. The incumbent will align the Digital Health and Information Management strategy to the hospital's vision, goals and objectives, and to the emerging vision for an Ontario Health Team for Burlington. Working within the patient care services portfolio and with providers across the continuum of care, the CIO will bring a strong service orientation to internal and external stakeholders in a manner that enables partnerships to advance and/or transform care to optimize value and effectiveness. The incumbent will leverage our Lean Management System to foster and promote innovation and integration within business and clinical processes. In addition, the CIO has operational responsibility for the Servers & Network Infrastructure, IT Integration, Clinical Informatics, Applications Support and IT Project Management, as well as Helpdesk, Switchboard & Locating services.

The ideal candidate is a strong, innovative leader who excels in leading and working collaboratively with planning and decision-making in a team environment. You have a proven track record of strong Project Management best practices. In addition to a collaborative leadership approach; team building skills, superior communication, decision making, problem solving, facilitation and planning skills are required. You are recognized for inspiring performance excellence while embracing change and transformation. You have the ability to deal with multiple priorities through highly developed time management skills combined with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet competing demands and timelines.

Your qualifications include: A University degree in a related discipline; minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a leadership role and fifteen (15) years of experience in Information Technology; strong Information Technology and communication systems background; Significant experience in Information Management best practices; demonstrated excellence in organization, change management, stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills; effective communications skills with proven ability to problem solve; team building and systems perspective with proficiency in MS Office Suite and sound technical and analytical capabilities. A Project Management Professional (PMP) is preferred and a Master's Degree would be considered an asset. Healthcare experience is preferred.
